SACRED HEART 10/17/00 -- Four people were killed Monday morning in a
two-vehicle accident four miles northeast of Sacred Heart.
The collision that flattened a car and twisted a sugar beet truck
occurred about 9 a.m. at the intersection of Renville County Roads 11 and
12.

The driver of the truck and all three people in the car were dead at
the scene.
A 1985 International semi tractor driven by Eric Ohmann, 27, of
Bloomington was heading eastbound on County Road 11 and pulling a loaded
beet trailer.
A 1990 Chevrolet Lumina headed northbound on County Road 12 was driven
by Shirley Holien, 68, of rural Granite Falls.
Passengers in the vehicle were Mildred Macrunnels, 79, of St. Paul, and
Caroline Knight, 74, of Sacred Heart.
No details of how the crash occurred were available Monday.
The accident is still under investigation by the Renville County
Sheriff's Department and the Minnesota State Patrol.
Assisting at the scene were personnel from the Renville Ambulance,
Renville Fire Department and Rescue, Sacred Heart Fire Department and
Sacred Heart S.H.I.R.T Team. |
