LONDON, April 2 (Reuters) - The world's largest sugar
company Tate & Lyle Plc (quote from Yahoo! UK
& Ireland: TATE.L)
said on Monday the closure date to sell Western Sugar Co of
the U.S. to the Rocky Mountain Sugar Growers Co-operative has
been extended to June 30, 2001.
Tate & Lyle said while all negotiations with Rocky
Mountain regarding the sale have been progressing, it has been
informed that the cooperative has experienced delays in
securing bank funding.
It said it will continue to assist the cooperative to
complete the sale on a timely basis. |
