Holly Sugar Agriculturist Craig Spencer has been promoted to fill the ag manager position vacated by Rick Griffith.

His new job became effective Monday.

I am very happy about it, Spencer said of his promotion. Im excited and looking forward to it.

I feel Craig is exceptionally qualified and really knows the area around here, said Leroy Schafer, Torrington district manager. I think hell work out really well.

Spencer, a Morrill, Neb., native, has worked as an agriculturist for more than seven years for a number of area districts. His most recent assignment was in Wheatland and Lingle.

I might be missing a couple, but Ill bet all the growers do know me, he said.

He looks forward to seeing all the growers at Hollys annual picnic on Thursday.

Spencer does not foresee any changes in his new job. Things will run much the same, he said.

Spencer and his wife, Bridget, have two sons, Brett, 6, and Jared, 2. They live in Torrington.
