The community will be saluting Holly
Sugar and the growers during Sugar Days 2001 Oct. 24-27 to celebrate
another sugar beet harvest.
Holly Sugar, the growers and the workers create
Sidneys largest industry by far and once a year we take the opportunity
to salute their contribution to our community. The Roundup, in cooperation
with Holly Sugar, the Montana-Dakota Sugarbeet Growers Association, all
Holly workers and area businesses, is again sponsoring Sugar Days 2001.
The Roundup will be publishing a special edition
devoted to the story of Holly Sugar in the Mon-Dak area. It is the only
local crop that goes from the ground to the table right here in the Lower
Yellowstone Valley.
Along with the special edition, a poster contest
will be conducted for grade school children in the area. The posters will
be displayed in businesses throughout the area.
The Roundup will also hold a grand prize drawing for
framed artwork. Participating businesses will be given a five-pound bag of
sugar to be used for display and to be given away. Employees of
participating businesses will be wearing You Cant Beet Holly
Sugar stickers during the promotion.
