Powdery Mildew Conidiophores Notice: Soon after infecting the plant, the fungus produces conidia. The conidia are formed on other specialized hyphae called conidiophores. The conidia form on the ends of the conidiophores in short chains. Each conidia consists of a single, transparent cell.
